Happy skin ... happy teen

Felling good in one’s skin is the result of a combination of many things and a fragile emotional, social, physical balance.

Remember puberty… One of the biggest challenges we’ve all faced in our teen years, were our physical and emotional changes. The body that we knew undergoes major transformation; its shape and volume seem out of control, body hair is growing, our sexuality is revealed. These changes made us more self-conscious, especially about our physical appearance.

This physical transformation is triggered by hormonal changes. One of the first signs of puberty is an increase in sebum causing clogged pores, pimples and blackheads, commonly called acne. The resulting appearance can lead to anxiety and reduced self-esteem.

That’s why taking care of children’s skin is important. It helps to build a healthy and balanced individual.

Because a teenager well in own skin is more confident, better integrated socially, better prepared to face challenges, succeed and be happy.

Remember the time spent in front of the mirror. Adolescent self-esteem is often affected by appearance, or by how teenagers think they look. As your child develops, he might compare his body with those of his friends and peers.
